About 5 PM this evening the blog logged a total of 50,000 views from 51 countries since it began a little over a year ago. I write because I enjoy it but it is even more rewarding to know that you folks enjoy reading what I post. Heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you—I appreciate that you see fit to budget some of your reading time in my direction in these busy times.
Thank you!

Congrats on reaching the milestone. It’s always an interesting and enjoyable read.
Congratulations Jim….I always look forward to your stories each month. keep em coming!
I just found this blog and have a lot of catching up to do! My brother and son are police officers and will also be interested to read it. My dad was a fireman at squad 10 when it was located on Webster at Lincoln ave. Your memories of family and street stories bring me back to that time which today seems more thoughtful and kind than what CPD and CFD officers face today .
Welcome aboard Peach! I hope you enjoy what’s posted here. A combination of police and non-police stories… all based upon true tales.
Congrats, Jim! Enjoy the writings of someone that’s been where we’ve been. Now at a buck a view……
UH HUH !!!! UH HUH !!! I knew it…Must be a police thing. “Buck a view” Ala Matt Casey too. hehehehhahaha See you sunday Jim……….. Kugie
you are just a gifted man with writing and sharing the journey you had on helping people, a man that write from his heart, thus making everyone pay attention if you write it, they will come, (they will read it)
Thank you for your very kind comments. Keep reading, I’ll keep writing!
Just hit 64 and remember the stories told ” out of school ” growing up . Your memories are a great look into the past and the unique love of familly and job . A different time, but the values remain .
Thanks for reading the blog, Jim!
Congrats, Jim! Your stories are so well written and from your heart. That is why so many are enjoying them. Thank you, mr
Jim, have to tell you how much I enjoy these stories. After 35 years on the Chicago Fire Department I wish I had kept a journal of all the things I have seen. Your writing of areas I have worked make the story very vivid. Thanks always look forward to we stories.
Thanks for reading, PJ. I also wish I had kept a journal… I am reduced to asking my (grown) children what stories have you heard that I haven’t written yet?
